I’m tracing the CPU issue and I believe it is caused by the MSHTML component, I’ll be working to exclude that in the coming weeks.

I currently have no idea what may be causing the excessive CPU usage. It’s certainly a bug but I don’t have information on how to reproduce it. If you’d like to join the beta group (http://groups.google.com/group/gvnotifiernet) and provide some more info that’d be a great start to solving the problem.

Dave, first off: thank you for this app. It is the only GV notifier I have used that works so well.

The only problem is, and I am sure you have heard about this already, is the 50% CPU usage it causes. I still haven’t been able to pin down exactly why it does it, either. I love using this, but I cannot most of the time simply because it bogs down my system too much. Is this something you are working on, or is it just something that happens to some users because of their setup?

@SteelFroggy – drag the shortcut into the Startup folder on your start menu. This option proved problematic. Hopefully it will come back in a future build.

@bw – unfortunately you have come across an annoying bug. I do apologize for this. The application can be *fully* removed by deleting the data in C:\Users\\AppData\Apps\2.0\ Do note that this is the repository for all ClickOnce applications, so take care NOT to delete things that aren’t GVNotifier. Alternatively you can install the latest 1.2 build, which will automatically disable the startup option for previous builds.

@gVoice user the interface is nearly identical if you adjust the options to your liking. Perhaps move the window over your clock, close it and then select ‘no window caption’. Most other changes are purely to support more features.

How do you uninstall GVnotifier? I installed v1 on a desktop and don’t find it useful since I’m rarely sitting there. I used ‘Add/Remove’ programs to uninstall but it still starts up every time I restart windows (7 Pro). Even if I uncheck ‘Start With Windows’ it manages to do this. Help, please.
